Useless XMAS gifts for my colleagues

I have a tradition of creating useless Christmas gifts for my colleagues. The criteria is that it must be made by me and the more useless it is, the better. I think this year I have outdone myself…

Let me present to you: the XMAS decoration! It’s made out of 3mm birch plywood in two layers.
The design for the Santa is made with the help of AI, with some serious cleaning done by me.
It is laser cut in separate pieces, and later assembled. All the parts are glued to the baseplate which has 1mm deep grooves for indexing.
The baseplate is first painted red, and then the incredibly handsome Santa is glued on it.
Then it was the turn of the lettering to be glued on.
The decoration is very light, but has a nice depth thanks to the multiple layers.
To finish the assembly, it was varnished. I mean, it must last for the future generations as well!
Overall the cost for creating it was very low and I only needed two sheets of plywood. On the other hand, it did take a long time to cut it out…
The design ended up being better than expected, so I ordered small stickers with it on them. It would be a cool thing to put on my laptop. The minimum order was 120 pieces, so now I could also use those on the “wrapping” of the gift.
I don’t think it can get much more useless than this. Job well done!
