I decided to change my workplace and I thought that it would be fitting to create a miniature monument for people to remember me by. It is a combination of a miniature of the office building I’ve worked for the last decade, my work initials, and of course the years I worked there.
Magnetic notebook pencil holder
I was thinking that maybe I should try my luck on the Printables contest for bookmarks. I haven’t joined any of their contests before, so this was an easy one to begin with. This was my second submission to the contest. You can find the files for this model here: https://www.printables.com/model/347051-the-book-magnetic-pencil-holder-bookmark
Magnetic and stackable dig markers for metaldetecting
I’m often detecting with my kid, and he usually marks the spots which he can’t dig himself. I also use markers for the “maybe” spots where the signal is questionable but I might want to check later. Now the ground is frozen, so I decided to make a bit nicer markers for the spring which…
Camera for Hama Bead “pictures”
My kid started making Hama bead “pictures”, so I made him a camera! Design time was around 3 hours, and so was print @0.15mm. A very simple print but also very liked. What can I say? I love to make useless stuff, hahah. You can fin the files for this model here: https://www.printables.com/model/315888-perler-hama-bead-camera
Magnetic blowtorch holder
I’m continuing my mission of making my little workspace as user friendly as possible. The goal is to have all the most used tools easily accessible from my usual working position. This time I re-used my WD-40 holder design and made a blowtorch holder. 3d printed and with three magnets to keep the can in…
Magnetic Roloc holder
With a small workshop, little improvements are very noticeable. With these it’s much easier to switch disks and everything is within my arms reach. I designed two versions; one for 2” discs and another longer one for 3” discs. Microgolf
What do you do you when your kid has to stay at home due to the flu and you need to work? You quickly design something that he watch being printed and then play with it! On today’s menu was Marble Minigolf. You can find the files for this model here: https://www.printables.com/model/288280-desktop-marble-minigolf
Simple firewood holder – One day build
I needed a firewood holder so I don’t need to place the wood on the ground. My rocket grill works best with rather small pieces of wood, so the size of the holder is reflecting that. I used mild steel for it and finished the build in ~3 hours. The metal twister is my own…
Project with the kids – Dinosaur
My son came to me and said that he wants to build a dinosaur. I told him that then he has to design one and this was the result. He even described the mechanism to move the jaw; “a metal bar through the side so it can move up an down”. Then he also learned…
Simple fire poker
My new rocket grill needed something to push the firewood down into the chute. This simple thing was created in 20 minutes! The twisted bar was one of the test pieces when I was building my metal twister. The handle is from my cherrytree. You can find the Rocket Grill build log here: https://silfer.works/rocket-grill/
